This is our mobile photo lab. It has a 5 computer network that lets us set up at an event, make images, and let the customers view images and order prints within minutes of the actual event. We also have 2 printers to print orders on site, a Sony UP GR700 for 8x10's and a Sony SnapLab for 5x7's.
Thieszen Photo Creations was started as a side line and an outlet for our photography hobby. After checking the prices of a new camera we decided it needed to be run more like a business than a hobby. One of our first marketing venues was photo greeting cards. These cards featured images that Patti took of flowers and plants around Indiana. They also featured some nature images that Eric took, but the main theme was local Indiana. We had good luck with these for a while then they went out of style. Two of our customers were the Indiana State Historical Museum and the Visitors Center by Bloomington.
We still do some greeting cards but they are mostly on a special order basis.
Our next phase was to combine two things we both enjoy, racing and photography. We were asked to get some promo images of a friends race car for his sponsors. He liked what we did so well he put our name on his car.
We offered a good product at a fair price and word spread around, soon we had requests from other drivers. By the end of 2006 racing season we had built a great clientel, as well as made many great friends. After racing season we started to freelance for the Mooresville Decature Times, this is our local newspaper. They are a part of the Hoosier Times Inc. group of newspapers. We covered High School sports and local events for them. This was a great learning experience for us in having to meet short deadlines.

Thieszen Photo Creations took off with a bang in 2007. January and February kept us busy at the newspaper. In March we went to a photography show in Las Vegas. The trailer above is a product of what we learned and saw at this show. That is when the "event photography with ON SITE PRINTING" really began to click. Here are more Images of our portable lab.

Our racing season also started while we were in Las Vegas, we shot the USAC CRA Sprint race, that was at The Dirt Track at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, for Flat Out Magazine.
These two images were printed in the June 2007 issue. The top one on page 34 of Tony Jones after winning Friday nights race.

The bottom one is on page 41 and is Danny Sheridan.

The beginning of April got the local racing started with some cold practice dates as well as some rain-outs. This year we are the track photographer for Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL. You can see some of the highlights from the racing there at TPC .
